Tragedy struck early Tuesday morning on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway at the Kere bridge in the Ewekoro LGA, Ogun State, claiming the lives of nine individuals and leaving seven others wounded in a devastating collision.

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the collision was a result of excessive speed and a violation of traffic rules, leading to a catastrophic head-on crash between the truck and the Mazda bus.
In a statement released to the press, Okpe informed that the injured victims have been rushed to General Hospital, Ijaye, while the deceased have been transferred to Lantoro Hospital, Abeokuta, for further proceedings.
